Two Willard students (one Middle School student and one High School student) were voluntarily picked up from school Friday, March 13th at approximately 10:00AM. As a preventative measure, these students were picked up because a parent is vigilant in response to a family member’s proximity to a co-worker that may have been exposed to a presumptive positive case of COVID-19 while traveling.
We are sharing this information with you to prevent any possible misinformation. As a District, we are working to be transparent and cautious as we navigate this situation with our community.
As we head into spring break next week we want to provide an update of how the district continues to monitor the potential spread of coronavirus, COVID-19, along with the disinfecting practices in our district.
We continue to work with the Springfield-Greene County Health Department and area school districts to make sure we are implementing recommended procedures from state and federal agencies.
At this time, field trips and any travel outside of the district and school hosted events are being determined on a case by case basis using guidance from the CDC along with state and local health departments.
We will keep you informed with new information including any needed updates over Spring Break.
Thank you for your support as we do our best to keep our school and community healthy.
At the Willard R-II School District, student safety is paramount. Reports of bullying are, and have always been, taken seriously and investigated. If you have knowledge of a bullying situation you are encouraged to promptly report such incident to a school employee, including specifically the Assistant Superintendent or Building Principal.
