Willard High School

Hello, Willard High School families!
WHS Band
Each year, there are hundreds of activities that take place at the high school. There have been many opportunities so far this year where students, families, and communities have come to support our students’ efforts.

Our Willard High School (WHS) band, The Cutting Edge, has concluded their marching band season of competition where they have been razor sharp! Our students have competed at a very high level and have shown tremendous growth! Congratulations to The Cutting Edge for their outstanding accomplishments at each competition this year with finishing first place in multiple competitions and concluding with their most recent performance at Bands of America (BOA) in St. Louis! Great job!

Students at WHS shine in many ways as they work hard and display their talents. Our second year tennis team won the Central Ozarks Conference (COC) title with an undefeated season! They have taken competition by storm and have represented Willard well! Congratulations!

Our volleyball team won their first COC title since 2005 and finished the season in the Elite Eight as they competed at a high level in the state playoffs! Our students worked tremendously hard and represented Willard well each and every game! Awesome job!

Our football team recently won the first round of playoffs and advance to district semi-finals! Their hard work and strong effort is a great example of the tenacity of our students!

Our choir performed their Fall concert in the gym and provided an unbelievable performance! They brought life to music and presented a concert that makes Willard proud! One of the big accomplishments for the choir is the selection of Levi Thedell to the All-State Choir for the second year in a row! Congratulations to our choir and to Levi for this tremendous accomplishment!

As we move forward through November, there will continue to be opportunities for our students to get involved.
WHS ChoirThe first ever, Explore Your Future day is November 14th where students have the opportunity to speak with professionals working in careers that students may want to learn more about as they become life-ready. One of the many great things about this event is that this will be during the school day at Willard High School! Students will also have access to numerous colleges, universities, and educational institutions.

Tickets for Disney’s Tarzan the musical are now on sale! Tickets can be purchased at willard.booktix.com now for performances on November 21st, 22nd, and 23rd at 7:30 P.M. and Saturday, November 23rd at 2:30 P.M. Tickets are $6 each for adults and children. Seats are assigned and can be chosen through the Booktix website.

Please talk with your child about these many opportunities and be sure to view future events by visiting www.hs.willardschools.net and you can follow me @DrKevinMorrison on Twitter and look for #WeAreWillard and #1Tiger.

Thank you and as always, it’s good to be a TIGER!

Willard Intermediate School- North
With one full quarter of the school year under our belts, WIS-North is looking forward to cooler weather and the many learning experiences ahead! Our students and staff really enjoyed celebrating Red Ribbon Week and reminders to make healthy choices in our lives. A special thanks to the High School Thespians for stopping by and sharing their positive messages with us.WMS Assembly

The first ever edition of The Growl came to life thanks to our newly created Journalism Club. Make sure to check it out!

5th grade students were able to share their learning about the Civil War with a larger audience through their "museum" exhibits. The artifacts they included were amazing and we appreciate the many family members that stopped by to see their learning come to life.

We ended October together with our first ever completely student led 1st quarter celebration assembly. A big shout out to our many student leaders for making it happen as well as the High School groups for stopping by and encouraging our students!

As the month came to an end, students had a lot to share about their learning progress with parents during our student led conferences. WISS Bus Driver AppreciationWIS-S will host a Veteran's Day celebration to honor our family members for their service and sacrifice on Nov. 11 at 1:00 pm.
