Willard Intermediate School- North
It has been an amazing start to the new school year and the beginning of a new era for Willard Intermediate - North! We were honored to host the majority of our school family at our Meet the Teacher Night on August 13th while giving everyone the opportunity check out what WIS-N is all about. With the opening of our sister school, Willard Intermediate - South, it has given our building a unique moment in time to redefine who we are and refocus our attention on growing future ready students. (A significantly less crowded building to learn in is a nice perk as well!) A huge thank you to the Willard Schools community for making the long-time dream of an additional Intermediate building a reality!
Make sure to follow us on social media and keep and eye on our building calendar to keep up with all the happenings at WIS-N this year.
Willard Intermediate School- South
Willard Intermediate School-South has opened its doors! We appreciate all of the community who came out to see our new building and celebrate with us during the ribbon cutting and Meet the Teacher Night. Our new school serves approximately 350 fifth and sixth grade students with a staff of almost 50. A special thank you to our patrons who helped make this school possible for our students. It is an amazing place to learn!
Our theme this year is "Our Town, Our School, Our Family" and we've spent the last couple of weeks getting to know each other and our school. Students have been participating in many team builders, getting used to the new furniture, and learning about what it takes to be successful this school year. All teams got to take part in a genre book tasting in the library and check out their first books of the year. Our first student clubs start this week, with many more before the end of September. Clubs such as Tiger Tones, Math, Drama Llamas, Speech & Debate, Pound Fit, and Running will be offered for students to get involved.
Team nights are just around corner and a great opportunity for parents to find out more about what their student will learn this year: Navy team - Sept. 5 at 5:30 pm Green team - Sept. 16 at 5:30 pm Maroon team - Sept. 17 at 6:00 pm Teal team - Sept. 10 at 6:00 pm

Willard Orchard Hills
The beginning of the school year always marks a time of promise and possibility. Each year brings positive change. The most significant changes we've made are the addition of a preschool class and three early childhood classrooms. We are excited for these changes and look forward to a great year!
The major focus this year will be the implementation of the Leader in Me program. Orchard Hills is in the initial stages of becoming a Leader in Me school where students are taught and practice the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The Leader in Me program empowers young people to make positive, effective, and responsible choices by introducing and reinforcing the 7 Habits, a set of leadership and life skills from Stephen Covey's book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Over the course of the year students will begin to learn about the 7 Habits. We encourage you to ask questions and engage in this process as we learn together.
We do have a couple of important dates coming up that I want to share with you as well. On Thursday, Sept 19th we will have our first All-Pro Dad's Breakfast of the year. This is a time for dads, or other positive male role models, to come enjoy some great food and good fellowship with their student and other men. We hope you can plan to attend. On Friday, Oct 18th we will be hosting our annual WOHE Fall Festival. This will be a night of fun and games for our kids and families to enjoy together. Please put this on your calendar and we will be sharing more information soon.
This will be an amazing year of learning, growing, and succeeding.
At the Willard R-II School District, student safety is paramount. Reports of bullying are, and have always been, taken seriously and investigated. If you have knowledge of a bullying situation you are encouraged to promptly report such incident to a school employee, including specifically the Assistant Superintendent or Building Principal.
