Willard High School Student Earns Floral Design Certification

Willard High School is pleased to recognize Emma Graves who earned the Benz School of Floral Design Principles of Floral Design Certification this academic year. Through the intensive certification program, Graves has gained essential career skills which promote a successful transition to postsecondary education and the workforce. Students with this certification have received the necessary background and knowledge in the floral design industry, including major topics like the history of floral design, flower identification, wedding & special arrangements, floral design tools and flower business management. To earn the certification, each student completed the required coursework and passed a rigorous final exam.

Endorsed by the Benz School of Floral Design and powered by iCEV, the certification enhances student résumés and helps them stand out to prospective colleges and employers. The certification reflects current industry standards in order to ensure students are career-ready. “Earning this certification provides students interested in the arts and floral design with a viable path towards a successful and rewarding career in the industry,” said Bill McKinley, Director of the Benz School of Floral Design. “The lessons and skills learned in this certification provide an invaluable opportunity for students to grow in their appreciation of floral design and help them quantify their skill set.”
