WHS Junior Ashlynn Bradley Wins Statewide American History Essay Contest

Willard High School junior, Ashlynn Bradley, won the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) George S. & Stella M. Knight Essay Contest earlier this spring at both the regional and the state level. Ashlynn will represent the state of Missouri at the SAR National Competition in April.

Ms. Bradley, an officer in WHS History Club, decided to craft her essay on how American Patriotism was born from the Revolutionary War. She enjoys philosophy and thought this would make for an interesting way to display history. Ashlynn explained, “I think it’s important to acknowledge our history. It’s really important to understand where we came from to keep history from repeating itself.”

For winning the Sons of the American Revolution George S. & Stella M. Knight Essay Contest at the state level, Ashlynn was awarded a $500 scholarship and the chance to read her essay at the SAR Missouri Convention.
