Congratulations to our baseball Tigers on their 4-2 victory over Republic. This runs their overall record to 17-4 on the season and 6-1 in the COC. They will face Branson on Thursday in their final COC contest. They will then host Bolivar on Friday. They have added a game vs. Walnut Grove this Saturday with first pitch at 11:00am. By the way.....our Tigers cracked the top 10 rankings in Class 5 this week climbing all the way the #7 in the state!
The soccer Tigers keep trying to avoid the raindrops and, field conditions allowing it, will host Nixa on Thursday. The girls will then host Ozark next Tuesday in the final regular season game before the district tournament the following week.
Track is gaining steam as they head towards the most important meets of the season. They will be in Republic on Thursday for the COC meet. This will be their last meet before districts on May 13th in Camdenton.
Congratulations to Greg Mitchals and Brayden Swearengin on qualifying for the Sectional golf tournament on Monday in Harrisonville! The top 10 from this tournament will qualify for the state tournament the following week.
The WHS Choir students had a fabulous day at the State Music Festival in Columbia earning 15 "1" ratings and 7 "2" ratings on the day. 39 of the 48 students earned at least one "1" rating on the day which is an incredible accomplishment and speaks to the depth of our talent pool.
Ensembles earning "1" ratings were:
Mixed Haviland, Mixed Bushnell, Boys Burney, Boys Dawson, Men's Anderson, Girls Baker, and Girls Brock
Solos earning "1" ratings were:
Sam Bird, Bailey Freeman, Emalee Flatness, Mariah Krueger, Shayna Sanders, Kenzi Hayes, Siena Kragel, and Jenna Lane.
Our Spring Concert is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, May 9th at 8:00pm. Please join for a great night of performances by these amazing students.
This weekend at State for Speech and Debate Cole Baker placed 11th in LD, Cole and Joe Amundson placed 17th in Duet, and Ethen Palumbo placed 10th in Poetry! In Finals Evan Kirksey placed 8th in OO, Ethan Gambriel placed 5th in Story Telling, and Brodee Turnbaugh placed 5th in HI! Way to go Willard!
