Late Start Procedures
Late Start Procedures
Due to the passage of Senate Bill 727, the Willard School District must complete 169 student days for the 2024-25 school year, a requirement for districts boundaries falling within cities with populations of 30,000 or more. The current calendar meets this requirement, but with winter approaching and only five AMI days available for make-up, the district has revised its late start schedule. This change aims to minimize the use of scheduled days off and avoid making up after Memorial Day. The new late start schedule was developed with input from administrators, Transportation, and Nutrition Services, with consideration of parent work schedules, allowing for safe transportation of students and staff during inclement weather.
