Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI)
In our ever changing world, it’s important to be prepared. Much like the rest of the nation, we learned that the hard way in March of 2020 in regards to at-home learning. Without knowing exactly what to prepare for, we began building the framework for alternative methods of instruction (AMI) for when learning needs to happen outside of our building walls. In just a few short months, we’ve come a long way in preparing our students and teachers to rethink what learning at home can look like!
AMI can look different at different grade levels and for different students. This is a flexible form of instruction that will vary based on the situation. AMI can be used for anytime that our District may need to close our physical buildings for reasons like inclement weather, excessive sickness, or other safety concerns. If this is the case, we will use several methods of communication to inform you and your family that AMI learning will be utilized for that day.
Our goal in providing you this information is to notify you that we’re prepared to facilitate learning for our students at home, should we need to use this at any time in the future.
